The Mathematics Department run a variety of Enrichment activities. Chess Club is one of our most popular clubs and students from all year groups attend.

The Mathematics department at Moreton school is a dedicated team who are committed to inspiring students to develop their love of the subject and to become excellent Mathematicians with skills that prepare them for the future. The team comprises of NQT’s and staff with years of experience.

We offer a knowledge rich curriculum that sequentially builds on the prior learning of our students and develops the mathematical skills of our students. Knowledge books are used for each unit and allow all students to access a challenging and aspirational curriculum. The Mathematics department works closely with other departments in school to ensure that numeracy topics are taught consistently.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The Mathematics Department run a variety of Enrichment activities. Chess Club is one of our most popular clubs and students from all year groups attend. The club gives students the opportunity to make new friends, develop problem solving skills and to improve chess ability. We also compete against other schools. Mathematics are also introducing a gaming club that will run at lunchtimes for all year groups. Alongside the clubs, the department also holds breakfast sessions, along with period 7 sessions with dedicated teachers who will offer support with foundation and higher material.
